Middleton Township provides fire, EMS and road services – including snowplowing and shoulder mowing along rural routes – as outlined under the Departments section of this site, with law enforcement provided by the Wood County Sheriff’s Department. However, newcomers should be aware there are some services commonly provided by larger municipalities that the township does not offer, including the following:
- Trash pick up
- Brush pick up*
- Recycling pick up
These services can be privately contracted through several local providers. We suggest that you check with neighbors regarding their provider(s) or contact the township at 419-352-1480 for a list.
*Residents can dispose of brush for free at Renewed Outdoors. Learn more here.
Note that the township does offer the following:
- Christmas tree drop-off/disposal at the township administrative campus each January
- Leaf collection in township subdivisions and villages, except Haskins, each December (weather permitting); residents are responsible for raking leaves to their curb beforehand
- Removal of roadkill deer and large animals (contact us at 419-352-1480 for assistance)
- Streetlight repair coordination within township subdivisions (contact us at 419-352-1480 for assistance)
